Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the arc unstable when welding stainless steel?
This could be due to incorrect polarity or poor shielding gas. Use DCEN (-) polarity and set argon flow to 10–12 L/min. A gas lens improves shielding consistency.
Why won’t the arc strike in TIG mode?
Check that HF Start is selected, the foot pedal is disabled if unused, and the tungsten is clean and properly ground. Use 2% thoriated or lanthanated tungsten for best results.
Why isn’t aluminium welding cleanly?
Ensure you are using AC mode with proper cleaning balance. Use a dedicated tungsten for aluminium like pure or zirconiated types.
Why is the machine overheating or cutting out?
This often happens if the duty cycle is exceeded or the vents are blocked. Allow the unit to cool for 10–15 minutes and clean any dust from the vents.
Why is my foot pedal unresponsive?
Check that the pedal is enabled in the settings menu and that the connector isn’t damaged. Always power off before connecting the pedal.
