A jointer is used to create flat, even surfaces along the edges and faces of wood, ideal for preparing boards for seamless joining. As rough lumber often has uneven surfaces after cutting, the jointer flattens these by feeding the wood over rotating steel blades from the infeed to the outfeed table. This process ensures straight, smooth surfaces for better appearance and accurate assembly. Colour of machine supplied may differ from picture.
