In-House Servicing and Repairs at Adendorff Machinery Mart: What You Need to Know

When your machinery breaks down, you don't need a sales pitch. You need a fix. At Adendorff Machinery Mart, we don't just sell tools we service and repair them. Whether you've bought a MAC AFRIC compressor, a Kinway drill, or a Makita grinder from us, our in-house technicians are trained to get your equipment back to work.

This matters more than most people realise. Especially if you're on the fence about switching from another brand because you've already invested in batteries or accessories. The real cost isn't the initial purchase. It's what happens when something breaks.

Why In-House Servicing Matters

Most machinery retailers sell you a product and disappear. If your tool fails, you're left hunting for third-party repair shops, waiting weeks for parts, or worse being told the item is beyond repair and you need to buy new.

Adendorff Machinery Mart operates differently. Every branch has qualified technicians on site. We stock parts. We understand the products because we sell them. That means faster diagnostics, genuine components, and repairs handled by people who know these machines inside out.

For straightforward servicing and repairs, visit your nearest branch. For more complex or serious repairs, our head office in Johannesburg handles the work: 98 Sailor Malan Avenue, Aeroton, 2190, Johannesburg | 011 434 7000.

Which Brands Does Adendorff Service and Repair?

We service and repair two categories of machinery:

Adendorff In-House Brands

These are brands we manufacture, import, or exclusively distribute. Full parts availability. Full technical support.

  • MAC AFRIC — Industrial-grade tools, compressors, generators, welders
  • Kinway — Power tools for home DIY and trade use
  • Taifu — Pumps and water handling equipment
  • Aeropro — Pneumatic tools and air accessories
  • Power Plus — Affordable power tools for DIY users

Premium Third-Party Brands We Stock

We also service and repair leading international brands available at Adendorff:

  • Wacker Neuson — Compaction and construction equipment
  • Makita — Professional power tools
  • Rongpeng — Pneumatic tools and spray equipment
  • Ingersoll Rand — Industrial air compressors
  • Atlas Copco / AUTOMAN — Compressors
  • Graco — Paint sprayers and fluid handling
  • Enertec — Batteries
  • NOCO — Battery chargers and jump starters
  • Thermamax — Welding

If you've purchased one of these brands from Adendorff, we can service it. If you bought it elsewhere, contact your nearest branch to confirm whether parts and service are available.

What's Covered Under Warranty?

All MAC AFRIC products sold at Adendorff Machinery Mart come with a one-year carry-in warranty. This covers defects in materials or workmanship. It does not cover wear and tear, misuse, neglect, unauthorised repairs, or damage caused by power surges or lightning.

Other brands we stock such as Makita, Wacker Neuson, and Ingersoll Rand are covered by their respective manufacturer warranties. Terms vary by brand.

What the Warranty Does Not Cover

  • Normal wear and tear parts (brushes, seals, belts, filters)
  • Negligence or misuse
  • Unauthorised modifications or repairs
  • Accidental damage
  • Improper wiring or installation
  • Damage from power surges, lightning, or incorrect voltage
  • Products used contrary to their instruction manuals
  • Batteries

Repair Warranty

All repairs carried out by Adendorff technicians come with a three-month repair warranty. If the same fault reoccurs within three months, we'll repair, exchange, or refund at our discretion.

Generator Warranty Exception

Generators require special attention. MAC AFRIC generator warranties are valid only if installed by a qualified electrician registered with the Department of Labour (NQF Level 5 or higher). The electrician must issue a Certificate of Compliance (CoC) after installation.

For large MAC AFRIC generators, the factory warranty is one year or 300 hours of use, whichever comes first.

If a generator is not installed correctly, the warranty is void. This protects both you and us from electrical faults that could damage the unit or cause safety hazards.

DIY Servicing: Service Kits Available

Not everyone wants to wait for a repair. Some customers prefer to service their own equipment, especially if they're running machinery daily and can't afford downtime.

Adendorff stocks service kits for the following brands:

  • Rongpeng — Pneumatic tools, spray guns, air nailers
  • MAC AFRIC — Compressors, generators, pneumatic tools
  • Aeropro — Air tools and accessories

These kits typically include seals, O-rings, lubricants, and other consumable parts needed for routine maintenance. If you're comfortable working on your own equipment, this keeps you operational without waiting on a technician.

Service kits are available at all branches. If you're unsure which kit you need, bring your model number or the tool itself, and our staff will assist.

Why Switching to Adendorff Brands Makes Sense

The most common objection we hear: "I've already got batteries from another brand. Switching to Kinway or MAC AFRIC means buying a whole new battery platform."

Fair point. But here's the counterargument.

The Real Cost Isn't the Battery It's the Repair

If your drill from a different brand dies after 18 months and the repair costs half the price of a new one, you've just paid twice. Worse, if parts aren't available or the repair takes weeks, you're stuck.

With Adendorff in-house brands like Kinway and MAC AFRIC:

  • Parts are stocked at branches nationwide
  • Repairs are handled by trained in-house technicians
  • Warranty support is straightforward no third-party runaround
  • Pricing is more affordable than premium imported brands

The upfront cost of switching battery platforms is offset by years of cheaper, faster, more reliable after-sales support.

Price Point and Availability

MAC AFRIC and Kinway are priced competitively. You're not paying for the brand name you're paying for functionality. And because we control the supply chain, parts and service don't disappear when a model is discontinued.

Compare that to imported brands where a discontinued model means hunting for parts on the grey market or scrapping a perfectly good tool.

How to Get Your Machinery Serviced or Repaired

Step 1: Bring It In

Take your product to your nearest Adendorff branch. All branches have technicians on site for diagnostics and straightforward repairs. Find your nearest branch here: Adendorff Store Locator

Step 2: Provide Proof of Purchase

Bring your original invoice. This confirms warranty eligibility and purchase date. If you've lost your invoice, we may still be able to assist, but warranty claims require proof of purchase.

Step 3: Complex Repairs

If the repair is beyond branch-level capability, the product will be sent to our Johannesburg head office for assessment. Serious faults, electrical issues, or parts replacement requiring factory support are handled there.

Adendorff Head Office (Johannesburg):
98 Sailor Malan Avenue, Aeroton, 2190, Johannesburg
Phone: 011 434 7000

Step 4: Collect Your Repaired Product

Once repaired, you'll be contacted to collect the product from the branch where you dropped it off. If it was sent to Johannesburg, it will be returned to your local branch for collection.

What If the Product Can't Be Repaired?

If your product is under warranty and deemed beyond economical repair, Adendorff Machinery Mart will offer one of the following:

  • Exchange for the same or equivalent model
  • Full refund of the purchase price

This decision is at the discretion of Adendorff Machinery Mart and depends on product availability and the nature of the fault.

Returns and Refunds (If You're Not Satisfied)

Changed your mind? Not happy with a purchase? You can return unused products for a full refund within 10 days of purchase, provided:

  • The product is undamaged and in its original packaging
  • You have the original invoice
  • The product has not been used

Adendorff Machinery Mart reserves the right to charge a repackaging fee if the original packaging is damaged.

In line with Consumer Protection Act (CPA) regulations, we'll cover return costs if:

  • You didn't have the opportunity to inspect the product before purchase (e.g. online orders)
  • The wrong product was delivered
  • The product doesn't fulfil the purpose described by a salesperson or product description

In other cases, return costs are your responsibility.

Why This Beats Buying Elsewhere

Most machinery retailers operate on a transactional model: sell the product, take the money, move on. If something breaks, you're directed to a third-party repairer or told to contact the manufacturer directly.

Adendorff Machinery Mart takes a different approach. We back what we sell. We train our technicians on the products we stock. We hold parts inventory. We don't outsource responsibility.

That means:

  • Faster repairs (no third-party coordination)
  • Lower costs (no markup on parts from external repairers)
  • Better outcomes (technicians who've seen the same fault before)

For industrial users running MAC AFRIC compressors or welders daily, this isn't a nice-to-have. It's essential. For home DIYers using Kinway drills or Taifu pumps, it's the difference between a tool that lasts five years and one that's replaced every 18 months.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you service products bought from other retailers?

We service and repair Adendorff in-house brands (MAC AFRIC, Kinway, Taifu, Aeropro, Power Plus) regardless of where they were purchased, subject to parts availability. For third-party brands like Makita or Ingersoll Rand, contact your nearest branch to confirm whether we can assist.

Can I service my own equipment?

Yes. We stock service kits for Rongpeng, MAC AFRIC, and Aeropro products. These kits include the parts needed for routine maintenance. Available at all branches.

What if I've lost my invoice?

Warranty claims require proof of purchase. If you've lost your invoice, we may still be able to assist, but it complicates the process. Keep your invoices.

Do you repair products bought online?

Yes. If you purchased from Adendorff's online store, the same warranty and repair terms apply. Bring the product to your nearest branch with your invoice or order confirmation.

What if my product breaks outside the warranty period?

We still service and repair out-of-warranty products. You'll be quoted for parts and labour. In many cases, repairing a quality tool is more cost-effective than replacing it.

Final Word

Machinery breaks. That's not the question. The question is: what happens next?

At Adendorff Machinery Mart, the answer is simple. You bring it in. We fix it. You get back to work.

Whether you're running a workshop with MAC AFRIC compressors, building a deck with a Kinway circular saw, or maintaining a site with a Wacker Neuson plate compactor, we've got the parts, the technicians, and the commitment to keep your equipment running.

That's the advantage of buying from a retailer that services what it sells. It's not just about the sale. It's about the next five years.
