Official Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the June 2025 Opt-In Competition (“the Competition”) conducted by Adendorff Machinery Mart (Pty) Ltd (“the Promoter”), and are binding upon all participants. By entering, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms.

1. Promoter Information

This Competition is run by Adendorff Machinery Mart (Pty) Ltd, a private company registered in South Africa under registration number [insert registration number], with its principal place of business at [insert head office address].

2. Competition Period

The Competition opens on Saturday, 1 June 2025 at 00:01 SAST and closes on Wednesday, 2 July 2025 at 23:59 SAST. Entries submitted before or after this period will not be considered, regardless of technical reasons.

The Promoter reserves the right to extend, shorten, suspend, or cancel the competition at any time without prior notice, should circumstances require it. Any such changes will be communicated via the Promoter’s website or official communication channels.

3. Who May Enter

This Competition is open to:

  • Legal residents of South Africa;

  • Who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry;

  • Who have successfully opted in via the Adendorff Web form and provided accurate, up-to-date personal information.

Exclusions:

  • Employees, officers, and directors of Adendorff Machinery Mart;

  • Immediate family members (spouses, parents, children, siblings) of the above;

  • Agents, representatives, advertising agencies, or affiliated third parties involved in the administration of the Competition.

4. How to Enter

To participate, entrants must:

  • Submit their contact details (full name, mobile number, and email address) through the Adendorff Web form;

  • Agree to receive marketing communications from Adendorff Machinery Mart by ticking the consent box;

  • Only submit one valid entry per mobile number and/or email address during the competition period.

Any duplicate, incomplete, automated, or suspected fraudulent entries will be disqualified without notice.

5. Prizes and Conditions

Three (3) winners will be selected, and each will receive:

  • A R12,000 Adendorff Machinery Mart in-store voucher (total prize pool value = R36,000).

5.1 Voucher Terms:

  • Vouchers are valid for in-store use only at any Adendorff branch.

  • Vouchers will be emailed to winners and simultaneously loaded as store credit onto their registered customer profile.

  • Vouchers are valid for twelve (12) months from the date of issue and must be redeemed in full before expiry.

  • No change will be issued for purchases below the voucher value.

  • Vouchers are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged for cash.

  • Vouchers may not be used on discounted or promotional items, or in conjunction with other specials or bulk pricing deals.

  • Misuse or attempt to resell, duplicate, or share the voucher will result in immediate forfeiture and possible disqualification from future promotions.

6. Winner Selection Process

  • Winners will be drawn at random through a certified digital draw system within 5 business days after the competition closes.

  • The Promoter will contact winners via SMS, email, or phone using the information provided at entry.

  • If the Promoter is unable to reach a selected winner within 7 calendar days, or if eligibility cannot be confirmed, the prize will be forfeited and a new winner drawn.

The Promoter reserves the right to request:

  • Proof of identity, such as a valid South African ID or driver’s license;

  • Confirmation of the winner’s customer profile details for credit allocation.

7. Publicity and Media Use

By entering and/or accepting a prize, participants agree that the Promoter may:

  • Publish their first name and social media handles on official digital channels;

  • Request a photo and/or testimonial for internal reporting or campaign wrap-up content;

  • Use such material for promotional purposes without additional compensation, in accordance with South African law.

Participants may decline public acknowledgment in writing if they wish to remain anonymous.

8. POPIA and Personal Data

This Competition is fully aligned with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

8.1 By entering:

  • You consent to the Promoter collecting, processing, and storing your personal information for the purpose of:

    • Administering the Competition;

    • Communicating promotional content;

    • Improving future customer communications.

  • Your data will be handled with the utmost confidentiality and stored securely.

8.2 Opt-Out:

  • You may withdraw your consent to receive marketing at any time using the “unsubscribe” link provided in our emails or by contacting us directly.

  • However, withdrawing before the end of the competition period will result in disqualification from the draw, as marketing consent is a condition of entry.

The Promoter will never sell or disclose your information to unrelated third parties.

9. Voucher Monitoring & Fraud Prevention

  • All vouchers will be tracked through our internal POS and CRM system.

  • Redemption will be tied to each winner’s registered customer profile.

  • Any attempt to falsify details, manipulate redemption, or violate system protections will lead to:

    • Immediate disqualification;

    • Loss of future promotion eligibility;

    • Possible referral to internal compliance for further investigation.

10. Disqualification

Participants will be disqualified if they:

  • Provide false or incomplete information;

  • Attempt multiple entries beyond the allowed limit;

  • Breach any of the above terms or abuse the platform/system in any way.

The Promoter’s decision on all matters is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

11. Liability and Risk

The Promoter, its employees, directors, and agents shall not be liable for:

  • Any direct or indirect loss, damage, or injury arising from participation in the Competition or redemption of the prize;

  • Technical or network failures, system errors, or issues beyond the Promoter’s control.

All participants acknowledge that entering this Competition is entirely at their own risk.

12. Force Majeure

In the event of force majeure, including but not limited to natural disasters, internet outages, strikes, load-shedding, civil unrest, or other circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control, the Competition may be suspended, amended, or cancelled without liability or prior notice.

13. Legal Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with South African law.
